چکیده
In this article we present a new family of high order accurate Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian one-step WENO finite volume schemes for the solution of stiff hyperbolic balance laws. High order accuracy in space is obtained with a standard WENO reconstruction algorithm and high order in time is obtained using the local space-time discontinuous Galerkinmethod recently proposed in [20]. In the Lagrangian framework considered here, the local space-time DG predictor is based on a weak formulation of the governing PDE on a moving space-time element. For the spacetime basis and test functions we use Lagrange interpolation polynomials defined by tensor-product Gauss-Legendre quadrature points. The moving space-time elements are mapped to a reference element using an isoparametric approach, i.e. the spacetime mapping is defined by the same basis functions as the weak solution of the PDE. We show some computational examples in one space-dimension for non-stiff and for stiff balance laws, in particular for the Euler equations of compressible gas dynamics, for the resistive relativistic MHD equations, and for the relativistic radiation hydrodynamics equations. Numerical convergence results are presented for the stiff case up to sixth order of accuracy in space and time and for the non-stiff case up to eighth order of accuracy in space and time. The comparison of two high-order semi-discrete central schemes for solving hyperbolic conservation laws
This work presents two high-order, semi-discrete, central-upwind schemes for computing approximate solutions of 1D systems of conservation laws. We propose a central weighted essentially non-oscillatory (CWENO) reconstruction, also we apply a fourth-order reconstruction proposed by Peer et al., and afterwards, we combine these reconstructions with a semi-discrete central-upwind numerical flux ...
متن کاملConvergence of relaxation schemes for hyperbolic conservation laws with stiff source terms
We focus in this study on the convergence of a class of relaxation numerical schemes for hyperbolic scalar conservation laws including stiff source terms. Following Jin and Xin, we use as approximation of the scalar conservation law, a semi-linear hyperbolic system with a second stiff source term. This allows us to avoid the use of a Riemann solver in the construction of the numerical schemes. ...
متن کاملStaggered Finite Difference Schemes for Balance Laws
In this paper a new family of high-order finite-difference shock-capturing central schemes for hyperbolic systems with stiff source is presented. The schemes are based on recently developed finite difference discretization on staggered grids, coupled with implicit-explicit (IMEX) time discretization for an efficient treatment of the source term. Numerical tests show the robustness and accuracy ...
متن کاملImplicit-Explicit methods for hyperbolic systems with hyperbolic and parabolic relaxation
In this talk we discuss the problem of constructing effective high order methods for the numerical solution of hyperbolic systems of balance laws, in presence of stiff source. Because of the stiffness, the use of implicit integrators is advisable, so that no restrictions on the time step due to small relaxation time will appear. Two different relaxation systems will be considered, namely hyperb...
متن کاملStability and Convergence of Relaxation Schemes to Hyperbolic Balance Laws via a Wave Operator
This article deals with relaxation approximations of nonlinear systems of hyperbolic balance laws. We introduce a class of relaxation schemes and establish their stability and convergence to the solution of hyperbolic balance laws before the formation of shocks, provided that we are within the framework of the compensated compactness method. Our analysis treats systems of hyperbolic balance law...
